Making a Difference: Loeb’s Pro Bono and Community Engagement Highlights from November 2025 Through January 2026

From November 2025 through January 2026, Loeb lawyers and professional staff devoted their time to a range of pro bono and community service initiatives supporting families, artists, caregivers, immigrant youth and others in need. Through partnerships with legal services organizations and nonprofit groups, firm volunteers helped individuals secure critical planning documents, finalize adoptions, navigate conservatorship proceedings, access legal guidance for creative endeavors and celebrate the holiday season. The firm also contributed to broader conversations about strengthening pro bono collaborations within the legal profession.Explore a month-by-month recap of these efforts below.

November 

Loeb Teams Up with ICLS to Help Families Plan for the Future

On Nov. 13, 2025, the firm volunteered at the Inland Empire Family Planning Clinic, hosted by the Elder Law and Disability Rights Center and ICLS. The clinic supported families in preparing critical planning documents—including statutory wills, AHCDs and powers of attorney—to promote long-term security and peace of mind.

The program began with a volunteer training and client workshop, followed by individual meetings with 11 clients. During these sessions, volunteers helped clients draft documents for review during and after the clinic.

Loeb Volunteers Provide Pro Bono Counsel to Music Professionals Through VLA Clinic

Loeb volunteers participated in Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts’ (VLA) virtual legal clinic, held in partnership with the NYC Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment from Nov. 19–21, providing pro bono legal guidance to music industry professionals. Founded in 1969, VLA is a leading legal aid and education organization serving New York’s artists and arts organizations, working to protect creative livelihoods, businesses and works through dedicated legal representation and innovative educational programs.

Across seven VLA matters, Loeb lawyers delivered targeted counsel to low-income artists and creatives on a range of issues, including music licensing, wrongful account termination, contract negotiations, royalty agreements, copyright matters and trademark disputes.

Six Loeb Lawyers Support Pro Bono Adoptions for National Adoption Day

In advance of a Nov. 22 adoption hearing tied to National Adoption Day—held each year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving—Loeb partnered with Alliance for Children's Rights to support three pro bono adoption cases.

Founded in 1992, the Alliance for Children’s Rights protects children facing poverty, abuse and neglect through free legal services, supportive programs and systemic advocacy. Its Adoption Day events—held throughout the year—transform the Los Angeles court into a space dedicated solely to finalizing adoptions.

Six Loeb lawyers volunteered to assist adoptive parents in three uncontested matters, helping families reach this milestone moment.

Loeb Lends a Hand to Families Seeking Conservatorship Assistance

On Dec. 9, Loeb partnered with Bet Tzedek to host a virtual Self-Help Conservatorship Petition Preparation Clinic, supporting individuals seeking to establish conservatorships for loved ones who need additional care and assistance. As part of a limited-scope initiative, the clinic helps equip prospective conservators with practical tools and guidance to navigate their legal responsibilities with confidence.

Bet Tzedek’s Self-Help Conservatorship program handles nearly 75% of all conservatorship filings in Los Angeles County, underscoring the clinic’s significant role in expanding access to legal support. The clinic kicked off with a one-hour training on conservatorship fundamentals and petition preparation, followed by hands-on support in drafting and completing clients’ petitions. In total, 10 teams—comprising 16 Loeb volunteers—successfully prepared more than 20 conservatorship petitions.

Loeb’s ACED–LA Partners with KIND for Holiday Gift Drive Supporting Youth

As part of the holiday season, the firm’s Attorneys of Color and Ethnic Diversity (ACED)–LA affinity group partnered with Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), a nonprofit legal aid organization supporting unaccompanied minors seeking immigration assistance, for its December holiday gift drive. Through KIND’s program, each participating child created an Amazon wishlist with two requested items, and ACED–LA sponsored gifts for 10 youths—totaling 20 gifts.

Loeb Pro Bono Director Meredith Madnick Discusses Pro Bono Collaboration at IP/Entertainment CLE Conference

At the firm’s annual IP/Entertainment Law CLE Conference in New York on Jan. 22, 2026, Loeb’s Pro Bono Director Meredith Madnick spoke on a panel alongside Andrew Hughes, vice president of litigation at Paramount Global, on best practices for law firms and in-house teams collaborating on pro bono initiatives. The discussion spotlighted the legal and strategic considerations behind effective partnerships, with key guidance drawn from the American Bar Association Rules of Professional Conduct.
