Overview
Daryl Steiger’s practice covers all aspects of entertainment law and transactional media, with a focus on the development, financing, production, licensing and distribution across all platforms of television, motion picture, streaming and other digital content.
Daryl advises clients on—and has extensive experience structuring and negotiating—a broad range of transactional entertainment matters, including optioning and acquiring underlying rights, the engagement of talent, development deals, production and co-production agreements, day-to-day production legal, distribution of content, and branded licensing, endorsement and appearance opportunities. In addition to representing producers, writers, actors and actresses, athletes, executives and other talent, she acts as outside business affairs counsel for studios, production companies and rights holders.
Daryl also represents sports industry clients across all facets of entertainment, media, corporate and commercial transactions, including sports companies in the development, production and licensing of related content, licensing of rights, and endorsements.
Daryl has represented Partners in Kind, Teton Ridge Entertainment, VaynerWATT, RTR Media, Ish Entertainment, Bungalow Media + Entertainment and InventTV in connection with the development and production of series and films. She has served as production counsel for Home Town, Help! I Wrecked My House, Down Home Fab, Dr. Pimple Popper and It Couldn’t Happen Here, and other programs, including the live Opry 100 Special on NBC and the Sundance-premiered Little Richard: I Am Everything. Daryl also has advised Oprah Winfrey’s company, Harpo, Inc., with respect to sponsorship matters for The Oprah Podcast, including partnerships with Starbucks, Ulta Beauty and Eli Lilly, and production matters for An Oprah Special: The Presleys — Elvis, Lisa Marie and Riley, which premiered on CBS in fall 2024.
With her extensive experience in the entertainment industry, coupled with her background in finance and corporate law and passion for reading and consuming a vast array of TV series and films, Daryl brings a unique perspective to every client and matter.
