Overview
Angelo Grasso focuses his practice on high net worth trust and estate, probate and guardianship litigation, with an emphasis on will and trust contests, fiduciary disputes and contested guardianship matters. Drawing on nearly 25 years of experience, he brings strategic judgment to complex disputes involving substantial assets, competing interests and sensitive family dynamics. Angelo represents fiduciaries and beneficiaries in a wide range of Surrogate’s Court proceedings, including will contests, discovery proceedings, contested accountings and guardianship matters, as well as challenges to testamentary instruments and fiduciary liability claims. He guides clients through disputes where legal, financial and personal considerations are often closely intertwined.
A veteran litigator in both trial and appellate courts, Angelo has led matters through every phase of litigation, including high-stakes hearings, trials and appeals. He brings a measured and disciplined approach to resolving disputes shaped as much by interpersonal strain as by legal complexity, especially where issues of family, control and legacy are at the forefront. His depth of experience enables him to anticipate how these matters unfold in practice and steer clients through contested proceedings with clarity and precision, navigating both the legal and human dimensions to position them effectively even in the most contentious situations.
Angelo regularly writes and speaks on trust and estate law and contributes to significant appellate advocacy, including as a co-author of an amicus curiae brief submitted by the New York State Bar Association to the U.S. Supreme Court in North Carolina Department of Revenue v. The Kimberly Rice Kaestner 1992 Family Trust.
