Loeb & Loeb Represents Composer Marvin Hamlisch in Music Catalog Sale to the Bicycle Music Company

LOS ANGELES – Loeb & Loeb LLP provided sole counsel to iconic composer Marvin Hamlisch and his affiliated companies in the sale of Hamlisch’s current music catalog to The Bicycle Music Company. Hamlisch is one of only two artists ever to win the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony, and the Pulitzer Prize for his renowned collection of songs, film scores and musicals, which include music to hit shows “A Chorus Line" and “They’re Playing Our Song,” scores to the films “The Way We Were” and “The Sting,” and original compositions for “Sophie’s Choice” and “Ordinary People,” among countless others.

“There are few artists as talented and accomplished as Marvin Hamlisch. He is a true genius, a living legend, and one of the most vital composers of our time,” says Bicycle Chief Executive Officer Roger Miller. “We are so incredibly proud and honored to now represent his fine body of work which will surely be celebrated for generations to come.”

John Frankenheimer, partner and Chair of Loeb & Loeb’s Music Industry Practice Group, together with partner Debbie White, advised Hamlisch in all aspects of the transaction, including review of potential buyers, negotiation of the Purchase Agreement and all diligence issues in connection with the sale.
