PLI's The Business of Insurance in Commercial Transactions

Loeb & Loeb LLP is proud to announce that partner Jerry Phillips will be speaking during PLI’s one-day program The Business of Insurance in Commercial Transactions on September 9, 2021 on the panel “Business Coverages Overview”.

About the event:
Law practitioners endeavoring to succeed as full-service providers for commercial clients must have a sophisticated understanding of insurance coverage.  Similarly, those on the business side of insurance must remain aware of clients’ expectations in purchasing and maintaining seemingly pricey insurance products.  This fact was never clearer than in 2020 when companies faced devastating business losses due to the pandemic while incorrectly presuming that their commercial insurance policies would provide some relief.  Then, as clients revisited warranties and indemnification obligations in asset sale agreements, good and services contracts, and for other major deals, legal and claims counsel across various practice areas expended unprecedented hours advocating disparate interpretations of complex insurance provisions ultimately turning to expensive and unpredictable—yet unavoidable—ADR or litigation. This new program will guide professionals across the practice spectrum toward more strategic uses of commercial insurance tools.  Further, you will gain critical insight into recent changes in how the industry and the courts have come to view corporate transaction provisions including challenges to risk allocation language.
