Represented Kobe Bryant’s estate in the filing of three trademark applications for virtual and digital goods to protect Bryant’s name and brand in the metaverse, reportedly the first of their kind filed by a current or former basketball star.
The most recent trademark filings include “Kobe Bryant” and “Mamba Forever,” for virtual goods such as clothing, jewelry, toys, trading cards as well as virtual experiences including basketball courts, and “Mambacita,” to commemorate Kobe’s daughter, Gianna Bryant. The trademarks were filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on January 28, 2022.
