Loeb & Loeb Expands Their Corporate Capabilities With Partner Michael Gerald In Los Angeles

Loeb & Loeb announced the arrival of Michael Gerald to the firm’s Los Angeles office where he will be a partner in the firm’s Corporate group. Gerald’s practice focuses on executive compensation and employee benefits and encompasses matters related to equity compensation, deferred compensation, qualified retirement and welfare benefits. He also advises clients on executive compensation and employee benefits issues related to mergers and acquisitions, workforce reductions and corporate restructurings.

“Michael joins us with a deep background in employee compensation and benefits and will be a key addition to our robust corporate team in LA. His presence will help us offer expanded support to our clients facing critical employment issues emerging out of mergers and other financial transactions,” said Arash Khalili, co-chair of the Capital Markets and Corporate practice.

“I am excited to join Loeb & Loeb and grow my practice advising clients as they face new challenges in the evolving executive compensation and employee benefits landscape in California,” said Gerald. “I look forward to working with the prestigious corporate team that is known for cutting-edge deals in the market and contributing to their growth momentum.”

Gerald has previously represented clients in requests for benefit-related rulings and determination letters from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). He has assisted clients in designing and administering equity incentive and deferred compensation plans, and in identifying and resolving qualification defects in qualified retirement plans through the IRS’s Employee Plans Compliance Resolution System.

“We’re pleased to welcome Michael to our office. With this strategic hire, we continue to boost our corporate capabilities and the breadth of services we offer to our clients in LA and surrounding markets,” said Alyse Pelavin, Los Angeles office managing partner.

Gerald earned his B.S. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and his J.D. from New York University School of Law. He joins Loeb & Loeb from Akin Gump where he was senior counsel. He is currently a member of Employee Benefits Association of Los Angeles.
