Former Federal Prosecutor Joins Loeb & Loeb's White Collar Criminal Defense, Corporate Compliance and Investigations Group

NEW YORK - Loeb & Loeb announced today that Jay Musoff has joined the firm’s New York office as a partner in the White Collar Criminal Defense, Corporate Compliance, and Investigations Group. Musoff joins from Orrick, Herrington, & Sutcliffe LLP in New York where he was also a partner, prior to which he served as a federal prosecutor.

Musoff represents corporations and their senior executives in high-profile investigations, including investigations relating to insider trading, tax shelters, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act issues, government contractor fraud, and securities and accounting fraud.

Before joining Loeb & Loeb, Musoff served for more than five years as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of New York’s U.S. Attorney’s Office, where he was a member of the Securities and Commodities Fraud Task Force. At the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Musoff investigated and prosecuted cases involving insider trading, market manipulation, wire fraud and mail fraud, as well as cases involving racketeering and violent crime.

“Jay’s experience working in New York’s Southern District will complement our firm’s expertise and offer an invaluable perspective to our clients,” said Loeb & Loeb Chairman Michael Beck. “He adds depth to both our White Collar and Litigation Groups with top lateral talent.”

As an experienced trial lawyer, Musoff has tried over ten felony jury cases to verdict and has argued numerous cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Additionally, he has been active in international arbitration and has investigated fraudulent foreign transactions and collusive litigations.

Loeb & Loeb White Collar Practice Co-Chair Jeremy Margolis commented, “Jay’s strong track record and extensive experience in trial cases will be tremendous assets to our colleagues and clients. We are pleased to welcome him to the firm.”

“I’m excited to join the impressive bench of attorneys in Loeb’s White Collar Group and look forward to growing my practice at the firm,” said Musoff.

Musoff earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia Law School where he was Notes Editor of the Virginia Law Review. He was a recipient of the New York City Urban Fellowship. Musoff earned his B.A. from Yale University where he graduated magna cum laude.
