Defense of Copyright Infringement Case Against Multiple Production Companies

Represented Black Label Media, Alcon Entertainment, Imagine Entertainment and other defendants against a group of individual plaintiffs claiming the film "The Good Lie," starring Reese Witherspoon, infringed their copyrights and violated their rights of publicity. In May of 2016, the Court granted the defendants’ motion to dismiss the plaintiffs’ claims for violation of their right of publicity and copyright infringement. Following the depositions of plaintiffs, the parties agreed to stay the litigation, and the case was settled favorably in 2017.
