George v. National Collegiate Athletic Association

Obtained dismissal on behalf of the NCAA in putative class action alleging NCAA's ticket distribution process and marketing thereof violated Indiana's gambling/consumer protection statutes. The case was appealed to Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals (Case No. 09-3667), which initially reversed trial court's dismissal and remanded the case. Thereafter, Seventh Circuit granted NCAA's petition for review and request to vacate. Case was certified to the Indiana Supreme Court (Case. No. 94S00-1010-CQ-544) for further disposition of three questions of first impression presented by the appeal. The Indiana Supreme Court ruled in favor of NCAA and the District Court's judgment was later affirmed by the Seventh Circuit.
