Overview
Nick Huelster focuses his practice on entertainment law, with a particular emphasis on the music industry. He represents recording artists, producers, songwriters, music publishers, managers and independent labels in a wide range of transactions across the music and broader entertainment landscape. He regularly negotiates, drafts and reviews music rights acquisition agreements, music publishing agreements, recording and distribution agreements, producer and featured artist agreements, brand endorsement and sponsorship deals, live performance and touring agreements, merchandising agreements and management contracts.
Nick also counsels clients on music licensing and clearance for album releases and film, television and commercial projects, ensuring rights are properly secured and protected. His work extends to agreements for music integration into visual media, as well as deals involving the sale or administration of music rights and royalty streams. Nick also advises on cross-collaboration projects between artists, producers and brands, helping clients maximize creative and commercial opportunities while safeguarding their interests.
Prior to joining the firm, Nick was an associate manager of business and legal affairs at Universal Music Group. In this role, he managed and negotiated critical agreements across the film and television divisions—including exclusive recording, artist license, distribution, label profit share and entertainment income agreements—while providing essential legal guidance to business units on a wide spectrum of rights and revenue matters.
