Overview

Eric Cook assists businesses in a wide variety of industries navigate various data privacy and security matters, with a particular focus on the regulation of health data, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the FTC’s breach notification rule, and various state privacy laws. He also counsels businesses in the financial services and pharmaceutical industries concerning risks at the intersection of state and federal privacy and security obligations, including ethics and artificial intelligence.

Eric has experience providing creative solutions for businesses seeking to utilize data to improve the customer experience while improving their competitive advantage. In addition, he advises businesses in matters relating to technology transactions, including SaaS agreements, software licensing agreements and various other technology agreements. Prior to joining Loeb & Loeb, Eric was an assistant general counsel at a large health care system, where he was engaged in drafting various supply chain and IT agreements with a particular focus on negotiating business associate terms.

Outside of work, Eric is an avid martial artist and fitness enthusiast.
