Loeb & Loeb Names Douglas Masters Chicago Office Head

CHICAGO – Loeb & Loeb LLP announced today that partner Douglas N. Masters, one of the founding partners of the firm’s Chicago office, has been named Chicago Office Head. He will succeed partner Elizabeth Majers, who has served in this role since early 2012 and will be retiring from the practice of law at year-end.

Masters’ responsibilities as Chicago Office Head will include general oversight of the office, and working with firm management to grow the firm’s presence in Chicago, a key market for the firm, and expand its services and capabilities throughout the region.

“Doug has been an asset to the office and to the firm since we first opened our Chicago office in 2004,” said Loeb & Loeb Chairman Michael D. Beck. “We know that Doug will continue to build on the great work that Elizabeth has done, ensuring that the Chicago office is operating effectively and efficiently from both a staffing and client services perspective. And we are truly thankful to Elizabeth for her years of service to the firm, both as a leader of the Chicago office and as a former practice chair within the Finance Department. She has done an excellent job,” added Beck.

In addition to his administrative duties, Masters will continue his practice work. Masters litigates and counsels clients primarily in the areas of intellectual property, advertising and unfair competition. He advises sports leagues, athletes, advertisers, corporations and individuals on how best to protect and manage their branding, marketing and other intellectual property assets. He counsels clients on a variety of matters involving trademark and copyright clearance, registration, policing and enforcement, as well as consumer protection issues. He also has extensive experience advising companies in domain name protection and enforcement proceedings, and matters and litigation relating to the unique issues of online marketing and advertising.
