Loeb Partner Jason Lilien Returns as “Principal for a Day” at Brooklyn Preparatory High School

Jason Lilien, co-chair of Loeb & Loeb’s Nonprofits & Tax-Exempt Organizations department, participated once again in the “Principal for a Day” initiative organized by PENCIL, a New York City–based nonprofit connecting business leaders with public schools to support student success for more than three decades. On May 13, Jason served as principal at the Brooklyn Preparatory High School in Brooklyn, New York.

During his visit, Jason toured classrooms with the school’s principal, Principal Noah Lansner, contributing to discussions and engaging with students about their academic interests and future goals. He also shared insights from his career path and led a question and answer session about the legal profession, offering students a firsthand perspective on careers in law.

“I’m honored to have served as ‘Principal for a Day’ at Brooklyn Preparatory High School and to spend time with such gifted students and faculty,” Jason said, reflecting on the day. “What an incredible school Principal Noah Lansner has built! Thank you, PENCIL, for this wonderful opportunity.”

In 1995, PENCIL was founded with the goal of raising awareness about public education by inviting civic and business leaders into New York City public schools. PENCIL makes it easy for business professionals, educators and students to work together—in schools and the workplace. The nonprofit’s programs, including in-school partnerships, mentoring, internships and immersive experiences like “Principal for a Day,” create targeted opportunities to make a real difference in the classroom and beyond. PENCIL strives to provide students with access to the relationships, skills and opportunities that support their success.
