Loeb & Loeb mourns the passing of our close friend and partner, Barry I. Slotnick.
Longtime chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property and Entertainment Litigation practice, Barry spent 24 years at Loeb. A nationally recognized intellectual property litigator, he handled countless cases on behalf of many well-known clients in the music and entertainment industries. Barry also served as President of the Copyright Society of the USA, and as counsel to the Board of Directors of the National Music Publishers’ Association. Barry’s clients saw him not only as a skilled attorney, but also as a trusted confidant. His deep knowledge of copyright law and the music industry, paired with his natural warmth and charisma, made him a devoted advocate who consistently delivered meaningful results.
Barry was a great collaborator and valued mentor to many across the firm. He brought unwavering professionalism, a thoughtful presence, and a generous and humorous spirit to everything he did – along with a lively wit and genuine personality that was as much a part of his legacy as his legal expertise.
Barry left us far too soon on August 14, 2025. His invaluable contributions to our firm and the legal community will be profoundly missed.
