Three Loeb Lawyers Honored with Northern District of Illinois’ 2023 Excellence in Pro Bono and Public Interest Service Award

Loeb & Loeb is pleased to announce that Litigation partner Laura McNally, Litigation senior counsel Emily Stone and Restructuring & Bankruptcy associate Noah Weingarten received the 2023 Excellence in Pro Bono and Public Interest Service Award from the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Chicago Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.

The annual recognition honors lawyers who have demonstrated a dedication to pro bono and public interest representation, specifically pertaining to criminal and civil matters. Laura, Emily and Noah were presented with the award during the Northern District of Illinois' awards ceremony in the James Benton Parsons Ceremonial Courtroom of the Everett McKinley Dirksen United States Courthouse in Chicago on May 1, 2023. Laura and Noah were nominated for the pro bono award by Bankruptcy Judge LaShonda Hunt, while Emily was nominated by Magistrate Judge McShane.

This year, two pro bono cases handled by Loeb were recognized. In the first case, Laura and Noah — with help from Restructuring & Bankruptcy partner Dan Besikof — received the pro bono award for a bankruptcy adversary action. In the second matter, Emily was honored for a settlement assistance case that she handled solo.
