Lowell High School Neighborhood Was Key to the School Board Recall’s Smashing Success

Loeb & Loeb Corporate associate Nick Warshaw spoke to The San Francisco Standard regarding the recall election of three San Francisco school board members, which occurred on February 15, 2022.

The Standard studied the voting precincts that supported the recall most heavily to uncover the center of the recall movement: Lowell High School. Turnout rates in the precincts that heavily favored the recalled were far higher than the overall citywide turnout of 26% of registered voters.

In the article, Nick noted that in low-turnout elections like the one on February 15, where no national offices are on the ballot, it’s usually a question of whether campaigns can drum up support from their most passionate supporters.
