Loeb & Loeb Promotes Nine Attorneys to Partnership

New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco (January 11, 2021) – Loeb & Loeb LLP is pleased to announce the election of nine attorneys to the firm’s partnership. The new partners are Michelle Albrecht, Elizabeth Allen, Ann Chen, Sara Crisafulli, Ryan Hagglund, Caroline Hudson, Joon Hur, Victoria Stephanova and Alison Sundberg Telleen.

Michelle Albrecht – Trusts & Estates, New York

Michelle works with clients to develop and implement sophisticated estate plans that maximize the transfer of wealth to future generations in a tax-efficient way. Her practice includes estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning as well as estate and trust administration. She has extensive experience drafting traditional wills and revocable trusts as well as other lifetime gifting techniques such as dynasty trusts, intentionally defective grantor trusts and limited liability companies. Michelle also works with clients on pre- and postnuptial agreements and other matrimonial matters. She received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her bachelor’s degree from Columbia University.

Elizabeth Allen – Advanced Media & Technology, Chicago

Liz prepares and negotiates technology, media, advertising, and promotion-related agreements, as well as advises on related regulatory compliance matters and data privacy issues. She has a particular focus on negotiating agreements for advertising and marketing, website and app development, data and content licensing, consumer-facing terms and conditions, gift card programs, and sponsorships and promotions. She also represents clients on a broad range of commercial contracting issues as well as software, cloud computing and technology licensing matters. Liz received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and also holds a Master of Science in Information from the University of Michigan School of Information.

Ann Chen – Capital Markets & Corporate, Los Angeles

Ann helps public and private corporate clients with respect to mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures, and corporate transactions. Her diverse experience includes handling multibillion-dollar business combinations, negotiating financial and strategic private equity investments, and advising individual clients on diverse business transactions. Ann’s work spans a wide range of industries, including entertainment, media and technology. Ann holds a J.D. from Loyola Law School and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Los Angeles.

Sara Crisafulli – Litigation, New York

Sara maintains a diverse litigation practice with an emphasis on intellectual property and real estate disputes, with a particular focus on title insurance matters. With respect to real estate, she represents clients in title claims and title insurance coverage matters, and litigates commercial real estate disputes including novel issues arising from the COVID-19 pandemic in the retail lease context. On the intellectual property front, she litigates claims involving trademark, copyright and internet law. Sara also maintains an active brand protection practice through which she helps clients in the fashion and luxury retail, entertainment and media, advertising, hospitality, and technology industries (among others) manage their global trademark portfolios and protect their brands through global enforcement and anti-counterfeiting strategies. Sara received her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and her bachelor’s degree from Boston College.

Ryan Hagglund – Patent Litigation & Counseling, New York

Ryan’s practice focuses on patent litigation in the areas of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. His litigation experience includes Hatch-Waxman litigation, patent license disputes, international arbitration concerning patent infringement and licenses, patent reexamination and interference practice, and technology-driven copyright and trade secret disputes. Ryan also has experience in transactional, opinion and counseling matters, including due diligence, patent portfolio analysis, preparation of freedom to operate opinions, and patent license transactions. Ryan received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and also holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees in virology from the University of Chicago.

Caroline Hudson – Advanced Media & Technology, Chicago

Caroline focuses on marketing, promotions and privacy matters, regularly advising clients on sweepstakes, contests, advertising clearance and claim substantiation. She also leverages her knowledge of key legal considerations relevant to the food, beverage and dietary supplements industries to provide guidance on labeling and other regulatory issues. Caroline also has extensive experience helping clients manage complex compliance obligations with respect to privacy and data security, including advising on recent developments, litigation trends, and further assists clients with privacy due diligence matters for corporate mergers and acquisitions. She received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame.

Joon Hur – Capital Markets & Corporate, Los Angeles

Joon represents private and public companies, financial institutions, and investment funds in a variety of corporate, finance and securities transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, venture and strategic investments, joint ventures, private and public securities offerings, and other corporate and commercial matters. Joon also regularly advises clients on corporate governance, organizational and business matters. He received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Victoria Stephanova – Real Estates, New York

Victoria represents borrowers, lenders and investors in all aspects of real estate finance transactions, including acquisition financing, construction financing, mezzanine financing and preferred equity investment transactions. Victoria also represents property owners in all stages of the acquisition and disposition of commercial properties, and she advises landlords and tenants in the leasing of office, retail and industrial spaces. Victoria received her J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington.

Alison Sundberg Telleen – Trust & Estates, San Francisco

Alison focuses on trusts and estate planning, with a particular emphasis on domestic tax law. Her background includes estate and gift taxation and nontax aspects of estate planning, structuring wealth transfers to charitable and noncharitable recipients, and planning for incapacity. She also handles matters involving the formation of family limited partnerships, limited liability companies and tax-exempt organizations. Alison received her J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of Law and her bachelor’s degree from Duke University.
