Loeb & Loeb LLP announced today that accomplished trial lawyer Jim Curry has joined the firm’s Los Angeles, CA office as a partner in the Litigation Department. Curry’s litigation practice concentrates on complex matters in the entertainment industry, and he has worked with a wide variety of major studios and networks.
“Jim’s depth and range of experience in the courtroom, spanning both commercial and soft IP litigation, will be a valuable asset to us and our clients,” said Dan Murphy, co-chair of Loeb’s Litigation Department. “We’re thrilled to welcome him to the team to continue the expansion of our media and entertainment litigation capabilities.”
“Loeb’s longstanding premier reputation in the entertainment industry aligns well with my own practice litigating on behalf of media companies,” said Curry. “I’m excited to work alongside such a dynamic team and look forward to collaborating closely.”
Jim has significant experience representing entertainment industry companies in commercial and intellectual property litigation and has successfully represented every major studio and every major television network. With significant experience in television distribution and accounting cases, he recently defeated a $77 million accounting claim against a major television network in a distribution case. He also has experience representing government agencies and handling construction defect and inverse condemnation matters.
Among his many accolades, Curry has earned recognition in American Lawyer, Hollywood Reporter and Best Lawyers, and has been published in the Los Angeles Daily Journal. He received his B.A. from Stanford University and his J.D. from the University of Chicago. Curry comes to Loeb from Sheppard Mullin, where he was a member of the Business Trial, Intellectual Property and Entertainment, Media and Technology practice groups.
