Loeb & Loeb Expands Beijing Office with Addition of Partner Roger C. Peng

BEIJING, CHINA – Loeb & Loeb LLP announced today that Roger C. Peng has joined the firm as a partner in its Beijing, China, office. Peng was most recently a partner in the Beijing office of Paul Hastings, prior to which he served as managing partner of Hogan & Hartson’s (now Hogan Lovells) Beijing office.

Peng’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity, venture capital, and complex commercial transactions, with a particular focus on transactions in telecommunications, Internet, media, software, and other technology sectors. He represents investment funds and other clients in numerous private equity transactions, and both acquirers and targets/sellers in cross-border mergers and acquisitions.

"Roger’s outstanding reputation and deep experience handling complex U.S. dollar- and RMB-denominated private equity transactions and cross-border M&A transactions is very well suited to the deal activity we are seeing in China today,” said Mitchell S. Nussbaum, chair of the firm’s Capital Markets and Asia Practices. “His decision to join Loeb in Beijing is a great testament to our profile and top-tier client base in these core areas, and we are very happy to welcome him to the firm.”

Loeb & Loeb Chairman Michael D. Beck added, “Loeb has had a robust practice in China for many years now and the continued growth of our global capital markets, M&A and private equity capabilities is a strategic focus for us. Roger’s addition to our team in Beijing is representative of our commitment to expanding the office with the market’s top talent.”

Fluent in English and Mandarin, Peng practiced in New York City before moving to Beijing and has practiced in the greater China region since 2000. He earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School and his B.S. from Bridgewater College. He has been recognized as a leading lawyer in Mergers and Acquisitions, Private Equity and Venture Capital by Chambers Asia, International Financial Law Review and The Asia Pacific Legal 500, and he was named in the Asian Legal Business Hot 100 list of preeminent lawyers in the region.

“Loeb is recognized as one of the market leaders in China and I am pleased to bring my practice to the firm,” said Peng. “I look forward to working with such a sophisticated team on the ground in Beijing and in the U.S.”
