WGA Addresses Industry Change In Tentative Labor Pact

Loeb & Loeb Entertainment senior counsel Dimitry Krol, is quoted in an article published by Law 360 Employment Authority, discussing the tentative labor agreement the Writers Guild of America (WGA) reached with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), ending the 146-day strikes in Hollywood.

In a comment to the publication, Dimitry notes that the new deal effectively codifies the concept of the writers room in a way that previous agreements have not. "While the writers and actors have different concerns and points of emphasis in their negotiations, they do have some overlapping interests. The WGA deal will likely create some optimism that the gaps between the studios and actors union can be bridged,” Dimitry said.
