4 Takeaways from Calif. High Court’s Greenhouse Gas Ruling

A decision from the California Supreme Court to further stall the Newhall Ranch multifamily development north of Los Angeles, in part based on concerns about greenhouse gas impacts, could possibly have wide-ranging implications for various projects throughout California.  This Supreme Court’s decision could renew interest in reform measures for the 1970 CEQA act.  Loeb & Loeb partner Allan Abshez is quoted on the decision as it relates to CEQA, saying: “Very little is accomplished by burdening CEQA analysis with this problem… It’s something for the Legislature to step in and clean up.”
