Phase 2 will include an additional 1,250 condominium units in a pair of high-rise buildings, the largest of which (58 stories) will include 67,000 square feet of retail space and will be among the tallest residential buildings in California. The improvements for the project will total almost 2 million square feet. In addition, Loeb is assisting Greenland USA in the drafting and the passage of a state law, AB 1373, to assist large-scale development in Downtown Los Angeles. AB 1373 has been approved by the state assembly and is working through the California Senate at this time. Loeb drafted the original bill and has worked with various elected officials, staff members and other stakeholders to revise the bill. Further, Loeb has spoken in support of the bill to a state senate committee as well as to various senators and assembly members. The Metropolis project and AB 1373 will work together to change the built environment of Downtown Los Angeles.
