Continued Advocacy for Reforms to Mississippi's Child Welfare System

Continued our advocacy for children in Mississippi’s foster care system by filing a contempt motion in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi asking for a federal judge to take over the failing system. The request to put the system into receivership was the latest step in a 10-year fight for improvements in the state’s foster care program run by the Mississippi Department of Human Services. For more than a decade, Loeb & Loeb has served as part of the legal team that has successfully obtained sweeping reforms to Mississippi’s child welfare system, and we are continuing to enforce the state’s obligations.
