Argyle Executive Forum 2010 Leadership in the Private Capital Markets

Loeb & Loeb is proud to sponsor the Argyle Executive Forum 2010 Leadership in the Private Capital Markets conference, where partner Stan Johnson will be on a panel titled, "A Look at Financial Reform in 2011."

From the conference website:

The outlook for private equity has cleared but is far from settled. Predictions are mixed for the revival of the deal-environment, the effects of Washington are still uncertain, and private equity’s relationship with banks is strained. This event will convene the leading industry deal-makers to discuss their outlook on the private equity environment for the next 12 months.

Selected Agenda

9:35am – 10:15am - A Look at Financial Reform in 2011

Session topics include, but are not limited to:

  • In light of impending changes to capital gains tax, what are best practices for making the most of capital before January 1st?
  • Thoughts on the effect of tax changes for economic growth in 2011.
  • What consequences following tax changes do you see for divestiture activity, as well as rules about how companies operate?
  • A look at the European AIFM Directive and its effects on funding.
  • Effects of Dodd Frank on PE funds. Especially in regards to requiring manager registration with the SEC, and investments from banking institutions.
  • Discussion of greater compliance culture going forward. How necessary is it to have an in-house compliance office at a PE fund?
  • Have financial reforms mistakenly conflated PE and Hedge, and thus had a more detrimental effect on PE?
