Building on a shared commitment to supporting the creative community, Loeb & Loeb and firm client Disney once again partnered to host a virtual pro bono clinic on May 28, 2026, providing legal guidance to the artists and creators who help drive New York’s dynamic cultural landscape through Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (VLA). Founded in 1969, VLA is a nonprofit committed to supporting New York’s artists and arts organizations through legal services and education. Through direct representation and its programs, VLA works to safeguard the livelihoods, businesses and creative works that power the city’s cultural community.
The clinic began with a brief overview from the VLA team, followed by breakout sessions in which Loeb and Disney lawyers reviewed assigned matters and then met virtually with clients. Seven VLA clients were supported by a cross‑disciplinary team of 30 volunteers, including 14 Loeb lawyers and 16 Disney in‑house counsel from across the company, including ABC, Lucasfilm and FX Networks, who collaborated to provide meaningful pro bono legal support to low‑income artists and arts organizations. The clients included a filmmaker, musicians, a film coordinator, a 3D animator and VFX designer, a documentary creator and a visual artist.
Loeb’s volunteer lawyers represented a range of practice areas—including litigation, entertainment, private client, advertising, and capital markets and corporate—and provided guidance tailored to each client’s needs. During the clinic, teams assisted clients with copyright questions related to film, reviewed music and production agreements, advised on credit and investor issues in film projects, helped with business formation and contract drafting for creative professionals, addressed documentary release requirements and supported estate planning and arrangements for visual artists.
Loeb Entertainment associate Brandon Zamudio, who also serves as an associate member of the VLA's board, played a central role in coordinating the firm’s pro bono partnership with Disney and uniquely participated in both rounds of client consultations, providing continuity throughout the clinic.
In addition to Brandon, the Loeb lawyers that participated as pro bono volunteers included partners Roger Arar, Anne Kennedy McGuire and Robyn Mohr; senior counsel Soffia Kuehner Gray and Jim Prestiano; and associates Elena De Santis, Danielle Hardy, Olivia Holmes, Lizzy Pott, Jeff Prystowsky, Sam Raffa, Ruby Lynn Yang and Ali Zarrabi.
