Loeb & Loeb Supports World Bass Enterprises in Launch of Debut Fishing Championship

Loeb & Loeb represented World Bass Enterprises (WBE), a sports and entertainment company established in 2026 and the founder and host organization of “The Champions,” in connection with the structuring, commercialization, operation and launch of the inaugural tournament.

Conceived as an annual world bass fishing championship, “The Champions” debuted on Oct. 28, 2026, and continued through Nov. 1 at Old Hickory Lake in Nashville, Tennessee. The four-day tournament brought together 60 leading anglers from the world’s premier bass fishing organizations—including Major League Fishing’s Bass Pro Tour—to compete for the Champion’s Cup and a record-setting $3.25 million prize purse.

In addition to the on-the-water competition, the event featured extensive fan activations, live entertainment and ancillary programming, as well as a pro-am competition and a large-scale expo at the Gaylord Opryland Resort. “The Champions” was designed to establish an annual marquee global event that unifies the sport, elevates its commercial profile and expands audience engagement across professional fishing.

Loeb served as outside counsel across the full lifecycle of the organization—from inception, to early stage structuring and corporate launch through live event production, promotion, execution and commercial expansion—helping align legal strategy with business, operational and revenue objectives. This support for WBE encompassed day-to-day and strategic guidance in key areas such as corporate matters, intellectual property, event operations, advertising, sponsorship, media/entertainment/broadcasting, talent and agency relationships.

The Loeb team was led by Loeb Co-Chair Arash Khalili, Entertainment partner John Kulback and Bess Morgan, deputy chair of the firm’s Brand Protection practice, and Advanced Media & Technology associate Lisa Wiznitzer, and included Entertainment associate Matt Regan and paralegal Devin Penzella; Corporate partner Harrison Finch and associate Camila Piedrahita Abello.
