Trump’s Executive Order on AI Promises Clarity. It May Cause More Confusion Instead.

Liz Allen, chair of Loeb & Loeb’s Emerging Technologies practice, is quoted in an article from Law.com discussing the Trump administration’s recent executive order aimed at curbing state-level AI regulations and its potential impact on companies’ compliance strategies.

Liz noted that despite the order’s intent to reduce regulatory burdens, uncertainty remains, and companies should be cautious about dismantling existing governance programs.

“If companies have already made efforts to comply with the existing state laws and landscape, and they’re building governance programs, it's probably going to be wise ... for them to keep those practices largely in place,” Liz said. “Abandoning those efforts when everything's shifting, if you abandon that too early, you really could end up creating more cost to play catch-up later.”
