Six Loeb Lawyers Recognized in Variety’s 2025 “Dealmakers” List

Loeb & Loeb is pleased to announce that that Variety has named the following partners to its 2025 “Dealmakers” list: Arash Khalili, co-chair of the firm; Scott Edel, chair of the Entertainment department; John Frankenheimer, chair of the Music industry group; Derek Crownover, vice chair of the Music industry group; and Entertainment partners Brandon Cherry and John Kulback. The publication’s annual "Dealmakers" award honors the executives and advisers responsible for the most impactful and headline-making entertainment and media deals of 2025.

In an accompanying profile, Scott, Brandon and John Kulback are highlighted for representing Alcon Media Group, an independent American film and television production company, in its $440 million acquisition of the film library of Village Roadshow Entertainment Group, including a $417.5 million feature film library featuring blockbuster franchises such as The Matrix and Ocean’s Eleven.

In addition, Arash, John Frankenheimer and Derek are noted in the profile for handling Big Loud Records’ sale of a $200 million minority stake in Morgan Wallen’s master recording catalog to Chord Music Partners. Big Loud, home to recording artists Morgan Wallen, Hardy, Ernest and Miranda Lambert, made the strategic investment to support its long-term artist development initiatives and expand the label’s global footprint, with offices and artists being signed in Texas and Los Angeles.
