Jessica Lee, chair of the firm's Privacy, Security & Data Innovations practice, appeared as a special guest on “Next in Media,” a podcast hosted by Mike Shields in partnership with Beet.TV, to discuss the level of readiness among brands, publishers and ad tech companies in facing privacy rights regulation.
In the episode, “Why it might be a rough summer for digital advertising,” Jessica spoke about expecting the California Privacy Protection Agency to actively enforce policies in the next couple of months. “This agency is dedicated to privacy. My expectation is that they are very excited to start their enforcement powers,” she said.
Jessica also answered who amongst ad tech companies, brands and publishers has more to worry about on the broader regulatory climate. “I think everyone is in the line of fire,” she noted. “Everyone should pay attention to this and make sure they’re buttoned up.”
