Countdown to Launch: An Update on Implementing the New Blanket Licensing System Under the Music Modernization Act

Loeb & Loeb LLP is proud to present a webinar titled “Countdown to Launch: An Update on Implementing the New Blanket Licensing System Under the Music Modernization Act”. This webinar was presented live on August 11, and can be viewed on-demand by clicking here.

About the event:
The Music Modernization Act of 2018 contained many long-sought reforms for the music industry. Perhaps none are as significant as the creation of the new Mechanical Licensing Collective, which is charged with administering a new blanket mechanical license for digital music services and creating a copyright ownership database for all commercially-released music.

With the launch of the blanket licensing system and ownership database scheduled for January 2021, this CLE* webinar will provide an update on the steps being taken at the Copyright Office, and by the Mechanical Licensing Collective itself, to prepare for that launch, as well as a preview of what songwriters, music publishers and digital music services should expect once the blanket license and ownership database become available.
