Anson Lam

Anson Lam maintains a broad-based commercial real estate practice. He represents a range of clients—including landlords, buyers, sellers and borrowers—in complex acquisitions, dispositions, financings and leasing transactions across the office, retail, industrial and multifamily sectors. Anson regularly negotiates sophisticated leases, Los Angeles County Development Authority (LACDA) affordable housing deals and other strategic transactions, guiding clients through all phases of purchase and sale deals, from contract drafting through closing. He also manages high-stakes due diligence, with a focus on title, survey and zoning issues. In addition, Anson brings in-depth experience handling large-scale, multi-asset matters across multiple jurisdictions, as well as transactions involving distressed assets, developing practical, tailored strategies that safeguard client interests and maximize value.
 
Before joining the firm, Anson served as the senior manager and real estate counsel at Macerich, a leading owner, operator and developer of premier retail destinations across major U.S. markets. In this role, he negotiated a wide variety of real estate and commercial agreements for the company’s nationwide portfolio. Anson worked closely with the leasing and asset management teams to assess regulatory property constraints and development opportunities, analyzing reciprocal easement agreements and restrictive covenants to determine feasibility and inform redevelopment planning. He also collaborated with cross-functional stakeholders to support strategic initiatives, including liaising with external advisors on projects impacting company-owned assets. Prior to this role, Anson was an associate in the real estate group of a national law firm.
