Loeb & Loeb represented global media leader Oprah Winfrey and her company, Harpo Entertainment, in connection with a multi‑year agreement with Amazon, under which Wondery, a podcast company and subsidiary of Amazon, will have exclusive distribution and advertising rights to The Oprah Podcast across audio and video platforms.
Under the agreement, The Oprah Podcast will expand to two new episodes per week beginning summer 2026 and will be distributed across Amazon services, including Prime Video, Amazon Music, Fire TV Channels and Audible, while continuing to be available on YouTube and wherever podcasts are distributed. The deal also includes certain rights to The Oprah Winfrey Show library, as well as Oprah Winfrey’s iconic franchises Oprah’s Book Club and Oprah’s Favorite Things, with potential opportunities for expanded integration across Amazon’s ecosystem.
The Oprah Podcast features Oprah in meaningful conversations with thought-leaders, global newsmakers, best-selling authors and cultural changemakers, often in front of live audiences who engage in the dialogue as well. Exploring timely themes, including renewal, fulfillment, resilience and connection, the series aims to meet listeners on their path to live their best lives.
The Loeb team included Marc Chamlin, chair of the firm’s Television industry group and its Literary Publishing industry group, and Anne Kennedy McGuire, deputy chair of the Entertainment department and chair of the Podcast industry group.
