NEW YORK (February 8, 2018) – Loeb & Loeb LLP announced today that Eve Costopoulos, Ryan N. Hagglund and Kiaema R. Reid have joined the firm’s New York office, strengthening its multidisciplinary life sciences practice. Costopoulos has joined as Of Counsel, Hagglund is Senior Counsel, and Reid has joined as Associate Director of Regulatory.

Costopoulos focuses her practice on managing complex regulatory, compliance and ethics issues in the life sciences industry. She has held senior executive positions at a variety of life sciences companies, including Eisai and Schering-Plough, and she has extensive experience developing, implementing and overseeing pharmaceutical compliance and internal audit programs. She also advises and trains management teams and boards of directors on their fiduciary duties and legal obligations relating to compliance program implementation. Costopoulos holds a J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and a B.A. from Rutgers College.
Hagglund concentrates his practice on patent litigation within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, with an emphasis on Hatch-Waxman and biotechnology litigation. He also has experience advising clients on patent licensing disputes, technology-driven copyright and trade secret issues, and transactional and opinion matters relating to IP issues in the life sciences arena. He received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School, Ph.D and M.S. degrees in virology from the University of Chicago, and a B.A. from Northwestern University. Hagglund previously practiced at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy. Prior to entering private practice, he clerked for Judge Richard Posner of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Reid is a life sciences regulatory professional with extensive experience managing and supporting pharmaceutical, medical device and biotechnology companies with compliance issues related to marketing and commercial interactions with healthcare professionals. She also has experience training commercial and vendor personnel to ensure conformance with standard operating procedures. Most recently, Reid was senior manager of marketing operations at global pharmaceutical company Allergan. She holds a M.S.J. in health law and intellectual property from Seton Hall University School of Law and a B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
