No Privacy for Vermont (for now)

On Thursday, Vermont Governor Phil Scott vetoed H.121, Vermont's consumer privacy bill, which included a limited private right of action and a kids code. Governor Scott cited the following reasons for his veto:

• Legal Risks: He highlighted potential legal risks and uncertainties associated with the bill's provisions.
• Balanced Approach: Governor Scott emphasized the need for a more balanced approach to consumer privacy that protects consumers without burdening businesses.
