Scoring Points for Your Case with the Other Side’s Expert Witness

Loeb Litigation partner Laura McNally is quoted in an article published by The American Lawyer discussing what lawyers can accomplish on “The Island of Everything Else,” or elements outside the witness’s area of expertise where points can be scored to undercut the value of their opinion to the other side’s case.

In a statement to the publication, Laura explained that a big part of any effective lawyer’s job in dealing with an opposing expert is to get an assessment of the witness’s demeanor. “Genuine, humorous, down-to-earth: These are dangerous experts. And if you don’t know that about them before they take the stand you are going to have a harder time,” she said.
