Loeb & Loeb Expands Entertainment Practice in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES – Loeb & Loeb LLP announced today that Gregg B. Ramer has joined the firm’s Los Angeles office as senior counsel in the Entertainment Department, where he will focus on transactional matters in the motion picture, television and new media industries. The firm also welcomed Junzi (June) Tan as an associate in the Entertainment Department, residing in Los Angeles. 

“Loeb has one of the largest and most comprehensive entertainment legal services platforms in the world and Gregg’s diversified practice complements our offering across several areas,” said Loeb & Loeb Deputy Chairman Mickey Mayerson. “Gregg is an accomplished dealmaker who brings a blend of legal and business experience that will be a great asset for our entertainment clients.”

Ramer advises clients on the development, production, financing, acquisition, distribution, marketing and exploitation of entertainment properties of all types. In addition to his work in motion pictures and television, Ramer’s experience extends to video games and digital media projects, as well as location-based entertainment centers. His practice also includes licensing, merchandising, sponsorship and branded entertainment agreements. In addition, Ramer offers counsel on intellectual property, privacy and data security issues and regularly advises clients with respect to employment agreements and entertainment guild and union matters.

Tan, a U.S.-educated Chinese national who previously served as a PRC legal consultant for a major international law firm, counsels production companies, distributors and investors in connection with domestic and international development, production, distribution and financing transactions for feature film, television and digital media projects.

Most recently, Ramer was special counsel in the Entertainment and Media Practice at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP. Before entering private practice, he was an attorney with the Directors Guild of America and prior to his legal career, he worked in multiple facets of the entertainment business, including production, story development and distribution. Ramer earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School and a B.A from the University of Southern California.  

Tan holds a LL.M degree from Harvard Law School and LL.B. and B.A. degrees from Peking University in Beijing. She speaks native Mandarin and fluent English.
