Chicago Commercial Litigator Laura McNally Joins Loeb & Loeb

CHICAGO – Loeb & Loeb LLP announced today that commercial litigator Laura McNally has joined the firm’s Chicago office as a partner, bolstering the firm’s Midwest platform for defending and prosecuting high-stakes cases in state and federal courts across the country, as well as in arbitration.

"Laura will be a strong addition to our growing Chicago office and our nationwide bench of litigation talent,” said Loeb & Loeb Chairman Michael D. Beck. “She has a diverse litigation practice with a proven track record for success in several key areas that are closely aligned with the firm’s strengths, particularly in insurance, professional services and white collar defense."

McNally has deep trial experience handling complex commercial cases involving issues of contract, fraud, insurance coverage, fiduciary obligations and professional malpractice. In addition to her trial litigation practice, she has argued appeals in state and federal appellate courts, including the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. She has also conducted internal investigations on behalf of corporate and non-governmental organizations involving allegations of criminal and regulatory wrongdoing, both in the United States and internationally, and she has represented witnesses in grand jury investigations and federal criminal trials.

McNally is also a skilled advocate in the context of settlement discussions, and she has successfully resolved dozens of cases through mediation or direct settlement. She serves as a member of the board of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the Federal Bar Association.

“Whether the audience is the court, a jury, an arbitration panel, or a mediator, Laura is a powerful advocate for her clients, and she will be a great asset to our practice in Chicago and firm wide,” commented Daniel G. Murphy, Chair of Loeb & Loeb’s Litigation Department “We are excited to welcome her on board.”

“I have great respect for Loeb & Loeb’s litigation acumen and I am very pleased to join this sophisticated team and contribute to the firm’s continued success,” said McNally.

In addition to her commercial litigation practice, McNally has represented a number of clients on a pro bono basis in civil rights matters, including the first case to establish AIDS-related disability discrimination in the District of Columbia. She also serves as a faculty member for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA).

Formerly a partner at Grippo & Elden LLC in Chicago, McNally earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from Tulane University Law School and a B.A. from Northwestern University.

With the addition of McNally, Loeb & Loeb has more than 30 attorneys and professionals resident in its Chicago office, which services clients across the areas of commercial litigation, advanced media and technology, intellectual property, corporate and commercial finance.
