Loeb & Loeb Represents Reservoir in First State Music Catalog Acquisition

Loeb & Loeb LLP represented independent music publisher Reservoir Media Management in the acquisition of the First State Media Group (FS Media) catalog, comprised of 26,000 music compositions spanning seven decades. The FS Media catalog contains collections from sources such as Wind-up Music Publishing, Dimensional Music, including DreamWorks Music Publishing, and country catalog Teracel. Included are iconic songs such as Chubby Checker’s “The Twist,” The Kingsmen’s “Louie Louie” and The Trammps’ “Disco Inferno, ” as well as contemporary hits from artists such as Kelly Clarkson, Creed and Evanescence.

Reservoir will assume administration of FS Media’s songs in the U.S. and Canada and will work with BMG to handle administration in international territories. The acquisition grows Reservoir’s robust, multi-genre catalog to approximately 75,000 copyrights.

The Loeb & Loeb deal team representing Reservoir in this transaction was led by Channing D. Johnson and Steven E. Hurdle, Jr..
