Harvard Law School's Celebration of Black Alumni

Loeb & Loeb LLP is proud to support the Celebration of Black Alumni: Turning Vision into Action where partner Channing Johnson will be speaking on a panel titled, “Entertainment & Digital Media: Crafting our Stories to Control our Image."

From event website:

“Turning Vision into Action” is the theme for our upcoming 2016 Celebration of Black Alumni (CBA) Reunion.

We have a longstanding tradition of celebrations here at HLS. In 2000, under the visionary leadership of Professor David Wilkins ’80, our first Celebration of Black Alumni was launched as an affinity reunion and was well received. We have continued that tradition to great effect the last fifteen years, when we celebrated past accomplishments as we gathered to network and reconnect to our fellow alumni and to HLS.

In 2016, we want to build on the previous Celebrations. This time, the tradition is being expanded through an authentic effort to develop a more purpose-driven call to engagement and a compelling discussion about the challenges and opportunities in our local, national and global communities.

Our organizing leadership believes that it is timely and important to pivot to a new direction for the upcoming Celebration of Black Alumni to focus more on thought leadership and courageous conversations. We plan to enrich CBA with business development and networking opportunities, public policy discussions, engagement and action, and continuing education, among other features, to help augment the power, influence and effectiveness of our alumni group.

Our program will include dynamic substance combined with a presentation style to match — and the combination is sure to provide for provocative, meaningful sessions and takeaways. This affinity event will challenge and support our graduates to live a life that matters in an impactful way and to lay the groundwork for a reenergizing this special network.

This time, it must be about more than wine and cheese. Let us commit anew to leverage the untapped power of the Black Alumni Network at HLS.
