Liz Allen advises clients on technology and data-related transactions, with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies. She chairs Loeb & Loeb’s Emerging Technologies practice.

Liz works with companies on complex technology and data transactions and counsels clients on compliance with AI laws and regulations. She helps clients navigate the legal, regulatory and commercial implications of developing, procuring and deploying artificial intelligence tools, including generative AI, agentic AI and machine learning technologies. Her practice includes advising clients procuring such technologies for enterprise use, as well as  companies developing AI-powered products, including pre-development or deployment diligence, technology contracting and drafting customer-facing terms and conditions.

Drawing from her background in information technology policy and her experience advising a diverse client base—including public and private U.S. and multinational companies across the advertising and media, financial, consumer products, automotive, travel and tourism, and technology industries, among others—Liz provides practical advice to clients navigating complex regulatory landscapes, including evolving AI laws, regulations and data privacy requirements. She views deals through both a legal and commercial lens, taking a hands-on approach to understanding each client’s business and operational concerns in order to deliver tailored, actionable advice. As co-leader of Loeb & Loeb’s AI industry group, Liz also helps organize events that bring clients together to discuss their real-world AI use cases and challenges, giving her additional insight into the issues clients face and how the broader market is approaching them.

Liz has extensive experience in transactions involving data licensing, technology licensing, outsourcing, software agreements and cloud computing agreements. Her practice also encompasses advertiser and advertising agency relationships, adtech and marketing technology (martech), website and app development and consumer-facing terms and conditions. She also handles professional services agreements and blockchain technology matters, and she regularly advises on privacy, security and data issues that arise in the course of transactional work. Having represented companies on all sides of these transactions, Liz brings a broad market perspective and helps clients efficiently resolve even the most challenging issues.
