Loeb & Loeb hosted its second AI Summit on July 10, 2025, in Chicago, bringing together in-house counsel from leading companies for an insightful morning of discussions on the evolving artificial intelligence landscape. Attendees represented a broad range of industries, including technology, electronics, IT, social media, construction, home appliances, medical devices, health care, retail, personal care, banking and financial services, fast food, and marketing and advertising, among others. Building on the inaugural event in New York in December 2024, the Chicago summit continued the dialogue around the legal, regulatory and business issues shaping the future of AI.
The morning began with welcome remarks from Loeb & Loeb hosts Kenneth Adler, chair of the firm’s Technology & Sourcing practice, and Liz Allen, chair of the Emerging Technologies practice. Their introductions set the stage for a live demonstration by Kathryn Ory of Meta’s creative team, who showcased AI-powered consumer products like the Meta AI glasses, along with creative tools such as Meta AI—highlighting the real-time innovation and transformative potential of artificial intelligence.
Following the live demonstration, Ken and Liz returned to the stage to present an update on the shifting AI legislation landscape in the U.S., highlighting recent regulatory developments and emerging legal considerations. The discussion continued with a series of roundtable discussions led by Loeb lawyers, covering timely topics such as generative AI and content creation, technology transactions and contracting for AI, intellectual property issues, financial tools and the role of financial institutions, SAG-AFTRA and publicity rights, and privacy and data governance.
