Sara Slavin maintains a broad legal practice focused on media and entertainment matters. She represents clients in a range of intellectual property matters, notably disputes involving claims of copyright and trademark infringement, and has broad experience litigating antitrust claims, defamation suits, business and privacy torts, and general contractual disputes.  

Sara's clients include major motion picture studios; television networks; Broadway, film and television producers; music publishers and record labels; publishing companies; fashion and apparel companies; high net worth estates and individuals; and a variety of small businesses and individual artists and creators. In addition, she has represented clients in the financial services sector with respect to securities issuances and regulatory proceedings. 

She has appeared in both federal and state court proceedings, with additional experience in appellate proceedings based on her time as a clerk on the First Circuit Court of Appeals. 

She maintains an active pro bono practice. She recently represented an asylum seeker who had been separated from her child shortly after crossing the border into the United States. Sara and the team of Loeb attorneys were able to secure the client’s release from a detention facility and then successfully reunite mother and child.  

Sara is a contributor to Loeb & Loeb’s IP/Entertainment Case Law Weekly Update for Content Creators, Owners and Distributors. She is actively involved with the Harvard Lampoon, a 501(c)(3) organization, in a legal advisory capacity.

Prior to joining Loeb & Loeb, Sara served as a law clerk to the Honorable Bruce M. Selya of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Prior to law school, she was an analyst in the Legal Department at Goldman, Sachs & Co. At Goldman, she worked in the Finance & Corporate Legal group, where she focused on securities issuances, and also in the Litigation and Regulatory Proceedings group, where she focused on securities litigation and regulatory inquiries.
