Nina Ruvinsky focuses her practice on representing corporations and individuals in complex litigation matters. She advises clients on insurance issues, internal investigations and government inquiries, commercial litigation and arbitration, advertising disputes, antitrust matters, and employment matters.
Nina has experience in all aspects of litigation, including taking and defending depositions, taking witnesses at trial, drafting dispositive and appellate briefs, arguing summary judgment and other substantive motions before the court, and defending cases at trial. Nina has second-chaired a federal criminal bench trial, as well as a civil jury trial in which the team successfully defended a defamation action and obtained a jury verdict entirely in the defendants’ favor. Nina has also drafted briefs before the U.S. Supreme Court and the Illinois Supreme Court.
Nina has represented a variety of clients in the healthcare industry, including in civil and criminal matters related to off-label medical device promotion, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and medical insurance billing practices.
In her investigations and white collar practice, Nina has conducted investigative interviews, participated in meetings and proffers with government investigators, advised company decision-makers, and participated in all aspects of investigations and preparation of responsive strategies. Nina’s investigations experience includes federal criminal and civil investigations, state Attorney General enforcement, and company internal investigations.
Nina also maintains an active pro bono practice, including the representation of asylum seekers in immigration proceedings. She was named a “Rising Star” in Pro Bono by the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC). She is a member of the Chicago office’s Pro Bono Committee. Nina was also honored to be selected as one of the firm’s delegates to join the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD).
Outside the office, Nina is actively engaged in the community, including as an Associates’ Board member of the Chicago Debate Commission, a nonprofit organization that facilitates an urban debate league in Chicago Public Schools, the largest program of its kind in the nation. Nina is also an Associates’ Board member of the Academy for Urban School Leadership.
