Ted Duver’s practice focuses on counseling energy companies, including investor-owned and cooperative utilities as well as renewable energy companies, in a range of federal and state regulatory matters. He has represented clients in adversarial proceedings and generic rule-makings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), as well as state public service commissions.
He also represents energy companies in connection with mergers and acquisitions and other transactional matters. He counsels clients in connection with the financing, acquisition and development of renewable energy projects, including community distributed generation, and assists them with understanding applicable regulations.
Ted serves as a trusted adviser to his clients, as the energy sector continues to move away from a 20th-century model to one that will integrate distributed energy resources while at the same time ensuring greater reliability and security for electric systems.
The energy sector is evolving at a very rapid pace. I am focused on partnering with my clients to ensure that they successfully navigate the ever-changing regulatory landscape.
He is also a member of the firm’s antitrust group, representing firm clients in antitrust litigation at both the trial and appellate levels, as well as assisting clients in establishing robust compliance programs.
Ted is a member of the Energy Bar Association and the Rural Electric Cooperative Bar Association and has lectured and instructed on regulatory and compliance issues facing energy companies.
