Evander Kane Bankruptcy Trials: Oiler Discloses He Borrowed $48M from 2014 to 2019

Loeb Restructuring & Bankruptcy partner Schuyler Carroll spoke to The Athletic in an article discussing Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane, who is scheduled to face trials in a San Jose, California bankruptcy courtroom for his Chapter 7 proceeding. 

In an email to the publication, Schuyler wrote that cases headed to trial in bankruptcy court can often settle just before the legal proceedings are set to commence. In the bankruptcy process, the trials are formally known as adversarial proceedings and function akin to a bench trial.
