Denise Stevens Receives Honorary Commission from Tennessee Governor

Loeb & Loeb partner Denise Stevens received the honor of “Colonel, Aide de Camp, Governor’s staff,” the highest honorary commission that can be given to a citizen of the state of Tennessee. State Representative Darren Jernigan nominated Ms. Stevens for the honor, which was bestowed upon her by Governor Bill Haslam during a ceremony on May 4 at the Supreme Court Chamber of the Tennessee State Capitol.

The award is considered equivalent to military commissions and, as such, recipients are commissioned as full Colonel and are recorded by the Secretary of State of Tennessee with those who have been commissioned into the State Guard and Tennessee National Guard.

Ms. Stevens is a member of Loeb & Loeb’s Entertainment Department, where her practice focuses primarily on entertainment and intellectual property transactions in the music, publishing, touring, merchandising, television and motion picture industries. Outside of her legal practice, Ms. Stevens is a Captain in the Civil Air Patrol, the United States Air Force Auxiliary, serving not only as Southeast Region Assistant Legal Officer, but also regularly trains for and serves Civil Air Patrol’s mission of supporting America's communities with emergency response, diverse aviation and ground services, youth development, and promotion of air, space, and cyber power.
