Karen Thorland of Loeb & Loeb will discuss the ongoing national anti-piracy litigation campaign by the MPAA member companies against peer-to-peer file-traders. Ms. Thorland will discuss the overall structure of this copyright litigation, from John Doe suits to litigation against named individuals. She will also address the issue of an industry "suing its own customers," and speak about the MPAA's goals in bringing suits against end-users of peer-to-peer technology. Finally, Ms. Thorland will address some of the litigation results to date.
