Meet Our New Partner - Theodore F. Duver

Loeb & Loeb was pleased to elect Ted Duver to the firm's partnership late last year. We recently sat down with Ted for a Q&A session to learn more about his practice, clients and goals for the coming year.


How would you describe your practice (in 50 words or less)?

My practice is centered on representing a diverse array of energy-industry clients as they navigate the federal and state regulatory landscape. Most recently, I have focused on litigating rate setting proceedings on behalf of utility service providers, advising clients on the regulatory aspects of merger proceedings and representing developers of renewable energy projects.

What do you hope to accomplish in the next year?

My goal this year is the same goal that I set every year – to continue to connect with our clients and to expand my knowledge of their goals and needs. Attorney-client relationships should not be defined by the scope of any particular matter that you are working on. Rather, they should reflect an ongoing dialogue and sharing of information and experience that allows us to efficiently and successfully meet our clients’ expectations.

I am fortunate to work with extraordinary people who all share a common focus on providing top-tier legal representation to all of the firm’s clients. The collegial, teamwork-oriented atmosphere provides me with the support and resources necessary to meet my clients’ needs. Being a part of a firm with such a diverse pool of talent and a shared focus on client service, I am confident that my practice will only continue to grow.

What is the best piece of advice you received from a mentor or senior partner during your early years in practice?

This job is about earning trust and building relationships. Whether it is with your colleagues as you work as a team to meet the needs of clients or with your clients who look to you to partner with them toward the pursuit of a common goal. At the end of the day, our business is a people business. We should never lose sight of the fact that we are working with real people who turn to us to help them find real solutions to issues they are facing.
