Loeb & Loeb LLP is pleased to announce that Advanced Media and Technology Associate Brian Nixon has been named to the Lawyers of Color (LOC) inaugural Hot List, which recognizes minority attorneys under the age of 40 from the mid-Atlantic region who are excelling in the legal profession. Mr. Nixon and his fellow honorees will be profiled in the LOC's inaugural Hot List Special Issue in July 2013.
The honorees were chosen through a two-pronged process. The LOC selection committee reviewed nominations from mentors, peers, and colleagues. The selection committee also researched bar publications and legal blogs to identify promising candidates. In addition, the committee made editorial picks based on their research of attorneys who had noteworthy accomplishments or were active in legal initiatives.
Mr. Nixon's practice focuses on the nexus of emerging technology, retail financial services and communications. He counsels clients ranging from start-ups (including social media platforms and emerging media ventures) to Fortune 500 companies, on matters involving mobile commerce, gift card program design and execution, privacy and regulatory issues, mobile apps, software development, advertising service agreements, and content license agreements.
"Brian is at the forefront of his generation in the area of mobile technology, privacy, and regulatory law," said Kenneth Florin, co-chair of Loeb & Loeb's Advanced Media and Technology Department. "This is a well-deserved recognition of his status as an emerging leader in the Washington, D.C., market and nationwide."
Lawyers of Color, originally called On Being A Black Lawyer, has been recognized by the American Bar Association, National Black Law Students Association, and National Association of Black Journalists.
